The word clove comes from the Latin root clavus which means “nail”.

Who knew we would have Latin lessons in a cookbook! Not only will you impress your guests with your recipe, but you’ll come off as if you were a smarty pants in Latin class high school.

Cloves are bitter on their own, but add heat for flavor and BAM! Your dish got so much better!

This is another spice that no kitchen should be without! Cloves are one of those secret ingredients in cooking, besides Love, of course! 🙂
